The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join our Tax team and play a key role in our continued success.
In this position, you will work closely with directors to deliver high-quality taxation advice to clients, while also leading and supporting your team to ensure excellent service delivery. You will help drive operational performance, maintain compliance and quality standards, and build strong, lasting client relationships.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive approach to client service.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Private Client Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied and rewarding workload, including:
Leading, managing, and developing team members
Set clear objectives
Conduct performance reviews
Support the growth and development of your team
Managing a portfolio of clients
Use your tax knowledge and commercial insight to add real value
Deliver a high standard of service tailored to client needs
Overseeing the quality of client assignments
Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within budget
Take responsibility for delivering a complete and high-quality end product
Collaborating across your service line
Scope client requirements
Ensure assignments are delivered on time and within agreed budgets
Working closely with senior leadership
Keep directors and relevant managers informed on client progress
Escalate issues where appropriate and provide timely updates
Identifying and developing new business opportunities
Build and maintain a network of prospective clients
Contribute to marketing activity and opportunity pipelines
Supporting business development activity
Participate in pitches for new work
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and proposals
Maintaining compliance and client care standards
Ensure all work adheres to legislative requirements and firm-wide quality expectations
Deliver proactive advice and support in line with the firm’s client care programme
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a collaborative mindset.
Essential skills and experience:
CTA, ATT, AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualified
Or possess equivalent experience as a Tax Lead
UK accounting / practice experience
Strong UK private client tax advisory experience
People management experience
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop others effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A collaborative approach
Comfortable working closely with colleagues, clients, and senior stakeholders
