The Opportunity

We are looking for an Employment Tax Associate Director to join our dynamic and expanding national team.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about employment tax, enjoys solving complex client challenges, and wants to grow their career in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

You can be based in one of our national offices, including:

  • Birmingham

  • Leeds

  • London

  • Cambridge

  • Gatwick

  • Bristol

  • Guildford

  • Reading

  • Southampton

While these locations are preferred, we are also open to hearing from candidates based near any of our UK offices as we continue to adopt a more nationally connected approach.


About Our Employment Tax Team

RSM’s National Employer Solutions Team is a progressive and highly respected practice, focused on three core areas:

  • Domestic Employment Tax

  • Global Employer Services

  • Share Plans and Reward

With a team of around 100 specialists across the UK, we support clients with practical, tailored advice across a wide range of employer-related tax matters.

Our work helps organisations:

  • Navigate complex employment tax regulations

  • Manage international workforce issues

  • Develop effective reward and incentive strategies

  • Improve compliance and operational efficiency

  • Align tax solutions with wider business goals

This integrated approach is what makes RSM a trusted adviser in the evolving employer solutions landscape.


How You Will Make an Impact

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality advice and strengthening relationships across a diverse client portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with a national team of 100 specialists, collaborating with highly experienced colleagues to deliver innovative and commercially focused solutions

  • Using your technical expertise to help raise standards in employment tax through practical, insightful advice

  • Advising clients across a broad range of employment tax matters, including:

  • Employment tax risk and governance

  • Off-payroll working

  • National Minimum Wage

  • Payrolling of benefits

  • Other complex employer tax issues

  • Supporting a wide variety of businesses, from:

  • FTSE 100 groups

  • Large overseas-parented subsidiaries

  • Private equity-backed businesses

  • Founder-led and fast-growth companies

  • Helping develop and inspire others, using your experience to support team members and contribute to a culture built on inclusion, respect, and innovation

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • CTA qualification or equivalent, or be qualified by experience

  • Strong specialist knowledge in Employment Tax

  • A sound understanding of Global Mobility

  • Confidence in handling complex tax matters

  • An open, approachable style, with a genuine willingness to listen to the views and ideas of others

  • Proven ability to manage and develop people, identifying and nurturing talent within the team
