We are now looking for a Private Client Tax Manager to join our Tax team and play a key role in our continued success. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, client advisory work, and people leadership in a progressive and supportive environment.


About the Role

As Private Client Tax Manager, you will work closely with directors and colleagues across the business to deliver high-quality taxation advice and exceptional service to clients. You will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, support the development of your team, and help ensure operational objectives are achieved efficiently and to the highest standards.

This role is well suited to someone who is proactive, commercially aware, and committed to maintaining excellent compliance, quality, and client care standards. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to business development activity and help strengthen long-term client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, manage, and develop team members, including setting objectives and conducting performance reviews

  • Oversee a client portfolio, using your technical knowledge and commercial insight to add value to the service offering

  • Take responsibility for the quality of client assignments, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and within budget

  • Support the delivery of assignments, including planning, fieldwork, and close collaboration with your team

  • Work alongside colleagues across the service line to understand client requirements and deliver solutions effectively

  • Maintain regular communication with directors and management, ensuring they are updated on progress and aware of any issues requiring escalation

  • Identify client needs proactively, offering relevant advice and support in line with legislative, compliance, and quality frameworks

  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients, helping to create a strong pipeline of new business opportunities

  • Contribute to marketing and business development initiatives, including participation in funnels, tenders, and client pitches

  • Adhere to the firm’s client care programme, ensuring every client interaction reflects the highest professional standards


What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this position, you will bring a strong technical background, excellent people skills, and proven experience in a UK practice environment.

Essential Requirements

  • CTA, ATT, AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualified, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience as a Tax Lead

  • UK accounting / practice experience

  • UK private tax advisory experience

  • Experience managing or mentoring people

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
